09:00 – 09:15
Meet at Sapporo Station Terminal & Depart  

Go to the Regular Sightseeing Bus window on the 2nd floor of JR Sapporo Station Bus Terminal (a 2-minute walk from the South Exit of JR Sapporo Station) and check in by 9:00. The bus will depart at 9:15. Information on this tour will be given via multilingual guidance system in English, Chinese and Korean. The guide on this tour provides guidance in Japanese only.

10:15 – 10:30
Former Hokkaido Bank Head Office  (15 min)

A popular sightseeing spot, this stone building was built in 1912 and is one example of modern architecture in Otaru. Visit the wine shop inside “Otaru Bine” for taste testing and shopping.

10:35 – 11:35
Otaru Canal Terminal (Canal Walk)  (60 min)

Participants can walk freely through the Otaru Canal area, a famous sightseeing spot representative of Otaru City. Otaru Canal was dug and built in the Taisho Era (1912-1926) and is about 1,140m long and 40m wide. Group photos at the canal are available. (Optional: Additional charge of JPY 1,000/photo)

11:50 – 13:15
Grand Park Otaru  (85 min)

For lunch enjoy a 70-minute buffet featuring both Western-style and Chinese food, plus dessert. It is possible to walk around Wing Bay Otaru (a shopping center) freely in the allotted time. The lunch buffet is free for children under elementary school age. 

Lunch at Grand Park Otaru generally starts at noon, but may be pushed back to 13:00 if circumstances require. In such a case, the schedule will be changed to the following. Otaru Canal Terminal 10:35-11:30 → Kitaichi Glass, Otaru Music Box Museum, Kitakaro (Free time) 11:40-13:00 → Grand Park Otaru (Lunch buffet), free time at Wing Bay Otaru 13:15-14:40 → Tanaka Sake Brewery Kikkogura 14:50-15:20 → Tenguyama Ropeway 15:50-16:50 
(Stops at each location will be 5 minutes earlier than scheduled)

Tanaka Sake Brewery Kikkogura  (30 min)

A well-established sake brewery where you can enjoy the local sake of Otaru. The stone building is a designated historical structure of Otaru. Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the sake brewing process, and enjoy the brewery’s own Japanese sake in the taste-testing corner after the tour. Sakamanju (sake bun stuffed with sweet bean paste), sake castella, sake lees rice crackers, and black soybean tea taste testing are prepared for those who do not drink alcohol, and the water used in the sake brewing process can be tasted from the well outside.

14:00 – 15:30
Sakaimachi Street (Kitaichi Glass, Otaru Music Box Museum, Kitakaro)  (90 min)  

Enjoy walking freely around the most lively tourist attraction in Otaru. Enjoy shopping in this area lined with glass workshops, music box shops and candy shops.
* At Kitakaro, show your regular sightseeing bus ticket stub to receive a “L’Amour de Hamanasu” confection present!
* Participants will receive coupons good for 10% off marine, farm, and folk craft products, and 5% off snacks at Kita-no-Ryoba’s Otaru Canal Shop and Otaru Shop 5. (Excludes: Chuo Bus recommended menu, drinks, alcohol, discount sets that include shipping fees, shipping fees, cooler box fee)

15:55 – 16:55                                                                                                                               
Tenguyama Ropeway (round-trip), The Glass Studio in Otaru  (60 min)

Tenguyama, the symbolic mountain of Otaru. Board the 30-person capacity ropeway which runs from the mountain base to the peak in about 4 minutes. Otaru Port and Ishikari Bay can be seen from here, and on clear days you can see as far as Shakotan Peninsula. Participants will receive a 10% discount coupon for drinks at the Tenguyama mountain peak restaurant. Participants can shop for glass items at “The Glass Studio in Otaru,” which is located on the mountain. Receive a 10% discount by showing your regular sightseeing bus ticket stub.  *The glass studio workshop area in The Glass Studio in Otaru is closed on Tuesdays.
